When you're in a strategic game of chicken and you're firm in your analysis of systemic racism as the underlying issue of your entire critique. And they walk in almost gloating. And the layers of confirmation are glaringly obvious. They don't bother themselves with acknowledging your presence. They don't bother with eye contact nor any kind of handshake. They don't bother with any kind of acknowledgement of your existence in the room. Not wanting to be bothered --even though they've summoned you. And still, they are bothered. Having been unsettled by a greatness that you've summoned that extends deep into your roots. Without them even knowing that it's so far beyond you.
